Certifications & Accreditations
At Nutshell, sustainability shapes the way our collection evolves. We focus on sourcing more of our materials responsibly, with growing use of certified recycled and organic fabrics. Every bag is developed with purpose, made using natural materials, and supported by globally recognised certifications that help ensure responsible and transparent production.
Our Materials Story
Sustainability continues to shape how our collection grows. Over the past year, we’ve built on our core ranges with thoughtfully developed styles made from certified recycled and organic fabrics, alongside natural materials such as undyed jute. Each addition is designed to offer the same everyday performance you expect, with a more considered footprint.
Today, the Nutshell collection features 31 bag styles across four core material groups:
• 100% Cotton
• 100% Certified Recycled Cotton
• 100% Certified Organic Cotton
• 100% Jute
All of our recycled and organic products are certified under GOTS and GRS, giving full transparency from raw material through to finished product — and ensuring the fibres we use meet recognised global standards for responsible sourcing and processing.
Circular by Design
Our products are simple by design, durable, and crafted from natural materials. Focused on circularity, our bags are made to last and are highly recyclable.
Product Safety
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the world's leading chemical safety certification testing textiles for harmful substances. 100% of our products are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, ensuring they are safe for the skin.
Ethical Supply Chains
We’re committed to raising the bar for ethical standards across our supply chain. That means partnering exclusively with suppliers who meet rigorous social criteria, ensuring every Nutshell bag is made with fair labour, safe working conditions, and responsible manufacturing.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an internationally recognised organic textile standard. GOTS ensures the organic chain of custody of textiles from the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, all the way to our business practices and the end-product, to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) set the criteria for the third-party certification of recycled materials and chain of custody. The GRS also includes a higher 50% minimum recycled content percentage and additional strict social and environmental requirements.

We are proud to be certified to the OEKO-Tex Standard 100, one of the world’s most trusted labels for textile safety. This certification means every component of our bags, from the fabrics to the smallest accessories, has been independently tested and verified to be free from over 1,000 harmful substances. We choose OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certification to ensure our products are safe for you, but also meet rigorous international standards for human and environmental health. This commitment reflects our dedication to transparency, quality, and responsible production at every stage.
